Using !important in your media queries

Oooohhhhhh, this will divide many. Ian suggests that you can use !important within your media query to cancel out previous styles. The example used is passable… barely. Definitely worth looking at if you are approaching a retrofit of an existing desktop site, but we all know we should be building mobile first.

We sometimes hear people arguing that we shouldn’t use !important in our website’s CSS as it can be incredibly annoying for others who may work on the website. While I agree with this in general, I have found myself using !important with responsive design
